(prescription) to OTC (over-the-counter). However, for children six months

to six years of age with hives the FDA requires a prescription from a

physician because of the difficulty of diagnosing hives at that age. This

is required for all OTC antihistamines to ensure a physician consultation

occurs. The pharmacist will fill the prescription with OTC Children's

Allegra Oral Suspension as an Rx Children's Allegra Oral Suspension is not

available.

Allegra should be used as directed according to the product label. Maximum effectiveness has been demonstrated when Allegra is taken with water. Taking Allegra with fruit juice IS NOT a safety risk, but the effectiveness of the medicine may be reduced.

sold over-the-counter is limited by the amount of pseudoephedrine that can be

contained in the packaging. Allegra-D contains pseudoephedrine, and is subject
